Outfielder Dante Tisci

DT:  "Well maybe not the RBI's, Dante's supporting cast would have to get on base for Dante to drive them in."

SP:  "Last year you were a free agent.  However, there did not seem to be too many teams interested in your services.  Why was that?"

DT:  "Believe Dante when Dante says there were plenty of teams interested in Dante!  As Dante said earlier, Dante is a team player and feels that his supporting cast can help Dante win a championship."

SP:  "What players in particular made you want to stay with the Titans?"

DT:  "There were quite a few, Dante likes that catcher dude, you know number 25, and Dante took Roy (Bill) Peters under his wing and taught him how to hit, so now he kind of looks up to Dante.  Dante also likes those Mexican guys (Jose Gutierrez and Herminio Melendez from Puerto Rico) because they really talk funny."

SP:  "What do you think the Titans chances are this year?"

DT:  "Dante doesn't like making predictions, but Dante thinks that if the supporting cast does its job Dante can win a lot of games."

SP:  "How would you characterize your relationship with Titans manager Wayne Hegner?"

DT:  "He's an Ass!"

SP:  "Well Dante, than..."

DT:  "What did Dante say about you calling Dante by Dante's name?!!!"

SP:  "I'm, I'm sorry..."

DT:  "This interview is over!  Where is Dante's money?!!"

Being Dante

Titans beat writer Simeon Pantalones recently sat down with outfielder Dante Tisci and discussed his career, outlook on the game and his expectations.

Below is their conversation.

SP:  "Dante, thank you for taking time out..."

DT: "Who the hell are you to call me Dante?, did I say, 'Call me Dante!', No, I did not!  Refer to my as either 'Sir' or 'Mr. Tisci'!"

SP:  "Ummm, sorry Mr. Tisci"

DT:  "That's Better."

SP:  "Mr. Tisci, you had a great season last year, do you expect to maintain the pace you established for yourself?"

DT:  "Well, Dante Tisci is a professional, Dante sets goals for himself and meets those goals.  Of course Dante will maintain the pace Dante established for himself."

SP:  "What do you say to those who think you benefited from having a strong offensive line-up around you?"

DT:  "Dante's supporting cast did do well, but those who criticize don't understand how Dante has to carry the load on this team."

SP:  "Why do you always speak in the third person?"

DT:  "What person?  I don't see any other person."

SP:  "I meant, that you always...never mind."

DT:  "You're funny."

SP:  "Last year you really didn't hit for much power, do you categorize yourself as a singles hitter or is there an untapped source of power there?"

DT:  "Dante is a team player and Dante does what's best for his supporting cast.  Dante has power, big power, but did not use it last year because his stupid manager kept putting Dante in the eighth spot of the batting order which is not reserved for power hitters.  If Dante's manager would wake up, he would put Dante in the clean-up position and Dante thinks that Dante could easily hit 50 Home Runs and drive in 190 RBI's"

SP:  "50 Home Runs and 190 RBI's?  You could do that in a 22 game season?"
